After working hard at my day job since Thanksgiving, and a swinging long weekend in New Orleans, I feel I can devote some time to getting my music heard. And spurred on by a couple of good reviews, I had to address how indebted to the many (about 25) professional jazz musicians I have used to record my three cds of originals.
All the musicians I was happy to work with, are very professional. I could easily recommend each and every one. Because I was trained in jazz fairly extensively--as a pianist at The Jazz Mobile, privately with about 3 or 4 different teachers and in a Jazz Workshop under the direction of the GREAT bassist Milt Hinton--I am pretty capable of arranging my stuff for small ensembles. And the people I used to entrust my music to were always ready to pick up any slack, usually tempo changes within tunes. But no one imposed their ideas. Very professional! I have been extremely lucky with musicians!
